Communicating Science

In this course, we will explore various aspects of science communication - how scientists share their knowledge and experience with non-experts. We will present several key principles of effective science communication - e.g. how to appeal to various audiences; how to design visual aids; how to present statistics clearly; and how to use metaphor and narrative to explain the work and ideas of science. The students will get plenty of guided practice with these principles in class activities and presentations.
